When Should I Begin Pregnancy Care?
Dr. Berg will determine the best time for you to start pregnancy care based on your individual health and pregnancy needs. However, most women should schedule their first prenatal visit around eight weeks after their last menstrual period.
You may also opt for a pre-pregnancy consultation before conceiving. During this visit, Dr. Berg will review your medical and pregnancy history, perform a physical and pelvic exam, and provide guidance on improving your health before conception. After confirming your pregnancy, Dr. Berg will take time to review your medical and family history, as well as your partner’s health history. After the initial visit, the frequency of follow-up appointments depends on the stage of pregnancy and whether it is considered high risk. Typically, prenatal visits follow this schedule:● Once a month until week 28.● Twice a month from weeks 28 to 36.● Weekly from week 36 until delivery.
